The Mission of the Eco-Care Conservancy of of the Powell River Region is to protect our past and future heritage through preservation and conservation of land and the natural environment, learning to use the natural environment without damaging it in whole or in part. This provision is unalterable.
1. To act as a facilitator of environmental conservation covenants and oversee that covenants are enforced
2. To obtain title, lease, covenant, contract and/or (secure) agreements as may be helpful and necessary for the conduct, promotion and management of environmentally sound educational, experimental, economic and recreational functions
3. To advocate and model social ethics whereby citizens may have opportunities to explore the full and broad potential for personal growth, expression and material benefit that may be found within sustainable human relationships, one to another and to natural habitat
4. To maximise public participation and self-help by use of existing and latent skills, innovative ideas, waste and indigenous materials and community exchange, and to maintain a resource inventory
5. To work, wherever possible, in harmony and in conjunction with other social agencies and organisations of similar purpose, and to enlist active participation in field trips for monitoring and documenting ecological health, vitality, historical aspects and possible degradation or infraction of covenants
6. To facilitate the development of community ventures into sustainable management and benefit from its present and potential resources
7. To solicit funds, donations and bequests for the purposes of carrying out these objectives.
